CII IWN Madhya Pradesh and CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development organised workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility at Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore.
The workshop was addressed by Mr Manish Rajoria, Convenor, CII Madhya Pradesh State Panel on Skill Development, CSR, AA and Education & Director, Aadarsh Pvt Ltd. He briefed the participants on CSR as an obligation of the industries towards the community. He said that there is no single accepted definition of CSR and can be called as a way to maintain balance by giving back to the society for the riches we make by exploiting it.
The speakers at the workshop included Mr Rakesh Agrawal, Global Head – Leather Business, Tata International Limited, Mr Sachin Joshi, CII ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, Ms Kavita Kathait, CII ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development and Mr Rajendra Joshi, Chairman, CII Malwa Zonal Council & Vice President – Operations, John Deere India Pvt Ltd.
The workshop discussed the kind of activities that qualify as CSR, nature of CSR - an expense, capital or revenue expenditure, disclosure of CSR activities, difference as compared to reach and outputs and social return on investment. It also threw light on CSR Legislation, CSR reporting, implementation challenges and impact measurement tools.
