About IWN Jharkhand

The CII IWN Jharkhand focusses to promote equal opportunities for women to participate, grow and flourish in the Indian economy . For the last two years we have been implementing initiatives aimed towards capacity development of women in the industry, their position in leadership roles , women’s access to resources, and women’s workplace safety.

Women is a key impact theme in IWN Jharkhand strategic plan, in which we set out to embed Women equality into our transformation strategy. Women hold leadership roles in PSUs and in Private Sector , Some of the key functions across industries , that women play a leadership role and take managerial decisions are , Supply chain, Strategic planning ,Human Resources , Sustainability and Risk Management . Additionally women are also employed as workers in commercial farms, and also as entrepreneurs, traders and processors. However, often women have fewer opportunities for progression and are more vulnerable to exploitation.

Through the activities of IWN Jharkhand, we hope to enable women to participate in and benefit from the IWN interventions. IWN will focus on increasing women empowerment within organizations, and aim to integrate women in all the sectors and programs. Additionally this year, the focus will be on Mentoring for high performing women and the Campus to Corporate Initiative to touch the lives of college students and build capability before they enter the corporate world.

Efforts are towards sharing best practices around the globe on the above aspects and Jharkhand Industries should start seeing benefits of this.
