CII IWN Pune Chapter – Workshop on ‘Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace Series 2’
AboutCII IWN Pune Chapter along with SEMAA (Stop Exploitation Molestation Abuse & Assault) organised a workshop on POSH Series 2 "Capacity and Skill Building" on Thursday 8th December 2016 at Pune for members of the ICC (Internal Complaint Committee) under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act 2013.
The main motive behind organising this workshop was since the orders of ICC in case of sexual harassment are subject to ‘judicial scrutiny and tests’ the legalities of the Act and conduct of the procedures require immense legal-technical capabilities, so that firms doesn’t invite costly legal and time consuming battles with courts and tribunals.
The objectives of this workshop was understanding the POSH Act and Rules, the role of the presiding officer in the entire case, what are the roles involved by the NGO, what are the roles of internal complaint committee and the procedure that they follow, gender sensitivity at workplace, what are the roles of the employers under the act ad rules. Employers, employees, presiding officers, ICC members, contractors, vendors, advocates and legal consultants, HR Managers and students pursuing law, MSW and MBA courses were part of this workshop.
