CII IWN WB Awareness Session “Say NO to Sexual Harassment at Workplace”
The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 entrusts the employer with the responsibility of providing a safe working environment for women in all corners of the country to uphold the rights of equality, life and livelihood as guaranteed by the Constitution of India. But study shows that most women workers are unaware about the Act 2013, the definition of sexual harassment at workplace or the legal protection available to them.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Indian Women Network (IWN) West Bengal in association with Sanhita organised a virtual Awareness Session on “Say NO to Sexual Harassment at Workplace” on Thursday, 08 October, 2020 from 1600 – 1730 hrs. In an effort to create awareness about the issue and provide basic information about the Act of 2013, Sanhita launched a ready-reckoner in the form of an animation film and a simple e-poster in three languages (English, Bengali and Hindi). These materials can be used in multiple ways by the organisations – the Internal Committees (IC) and HR as part of their awareness initiatives.
