CII IWN WR – Webinar on Women Working from Home – Challenges and Opportunities
Ms. Ranjana Maitra- A dynamic leader and entrepreneur with over 28 years with TCS and Wipro and currently the Country Head for University of New Haven, CT, USA conducted a webinar on 6th May 2020 for CII IWN Western Region members on “ Women Working from Home – Opportunities and Challenges.”
Ranjana gave an insightful presentation, drawing examples from her own career spanning 3 decades in IT and recently now in Higher Education (US). She also touched upon some key suggestions for keeping in mind while WFH such as investing in technology, setting designated reglular work timings, setting a realistic schedule and ensuring buy in from family members among others to be successful. While addressing challenges, Ranjana emphasized on having a strong willpower to ensure timely and efficient delivery as WHF represents a big social shift too.
At the end Ranjana spoke about the Post Covid-19 scenario, Short Term Challenges, Long term Opportunities and the New Normal. The key takeaways being- WFH will be the new norm as the world will become location agnostic, virtual will not be a poor substitute any more, remote working and return to work program for women will increase including temp work force, women can monetize their skills in all sorts of ways going forward. She also added that education and corporate learning will all go virtual big time which will benefit women. A total global shift in the way we conduct business is the new world for us, she concluded.
